for a Proposed Land Acquisition and Runway Extension Project at Angelina County Airport; Lufkin, TX

 

Angelina County, Texas intends to undertake a runway extension project at the Angelina County Airport (LFK). The project components include:

  • Addition of approximately 27 acres to the LFK Airport Layout Plan (ALP)
  • Removal of houses from acquired properties.
  • Construction of approximately 600-foot runway extension for Runway 25 and associated parallel taxiway.
  • Modification of navigational aids (NAVAIDs)
  • Grading of land and removal of trees within the Runway 25 Runway Safety Area.
  • Closure of Walking Horse Lane.
  • Relocation of existing 10-foot security/wildlife fence.
